This simple design change for the DDX Direct Drive eXtruder for Creality, of moving the primary drive gear attached to the main shaft with a set screw, to a monolithic piece made of a single steel part, greatly improved its runout.
The new microscopic runout lowered the wobbling of the main gear of the DDX, a mostly visual improvement, and arguably improved the 3D prints surface quality by reducing the travel of the filament along the drive gear filament teeth.
By fusing together the main shaft and drive gear, Bondtech reduced its runout and improved the surface quality of 3D prints.
Drastical off center reduction
Main drive gear pressure on filament and extrusion is more stable and uniform.
No more wobbling effect
Reduces wear of the motor gear on the plastic main gear that runs more balanced.
Reduced number of parts
Made of less components is less prone to manufacturing errors.
Now vailable on all BMG type
Since the DDX we now include this advancement in all BMG type extruders.
