The DDX v3 is much easier to install
With this integrated fan shroud and mount the DDX v3 is even easier to install.
Snap the fan to the shroud without using screws.
Adjust the height of the shroud with one front access screw.
Using a bed probe with DDX
The DDX was designed to allow space for the bed probe to be attached to the x-carriage. In models where there is no space to attach a bed probe like the BLtouch, to the X-carriage, a mount can printed and attached to the right hand side of the DDX.
Bondtech DDX Direct Drive eXtruder
This Direct Drive eXtruder from Bondtech is a high performance, high reliability 1,75mm Dual Drive extruder for Creality 3D printers, based on our very popular BMG. Bondtech’s unique Dual-Drive technology combined with either the factory hotend or for even better performance the industry leading hotends Copperhead™ or Mosquito™ from Slice Engineering, gives you a direct drive extruder with trouble free material feeding and enables the use of a wider range of materials. The housing parts are printed with PA12 (polyamide) for maximum strength and precision using industrial grade SLS technology.
Make your 3D printer even better
Bondtech DDX Direct Drive eXtruder for Creality is designed to give the user more options – different materials; higher flow and/or wider nozzles; thinner layers – and achieve a higher print quality. The DDX is based on the BMG Bondtech Mini Geared extruder featuring our unique Dual-Drive technology. The DDX housing design provides an effective Hot-End cooling. With the 3:1 gearing ratio, high resolution prints with small nozzles or high flow prints with bigger nozzles can be achieved.
Easy To Setup
For ease of setup the kit is attached to the carriage with only 2 screws.

These Parts Are Required For The DDX To Function Properly
When assembling or disassembling your DDX extruder always keep the following elements and parts under watch. Ball bearings especially have the bad habit of sticking to the housing pockets, or falling off and getting lost.
Do not use your DDX without being sure you have ALL these parts.
Hinge and Secondary Drive Gear
The black plastic injected molded hinge holds the following parts:
- 1x 3x32mm shaft
- 1x 3x20mm shaft
- 2x needle bearings
- 1x Secondary drive gear
Main Shaft Assembly
The main shaft assembly holds the following parts:
- 1x Integrated main drive gear and shaft
- 1x black main double gear
- 2x 5x8x2.5mm ballbearing
Installing DDX v3 on Ender-6
Featuring a DDX PH3 Mosquito hotend upgrade.
To install the fan shroud on the DDX V3, and after levelling it, be sure to firmly tighten its screw so the fan shroud feels rock steady.
How to load and unload material on the DDX
Featuring a DDX v3 on a CR-10S Pro.
E-steps and Klipper settings
For Klipper users
rotation_distance = full_steps_per_rotation * microsteps / steps_per_mmrotation_distance = 200 * 16 / 415
rotation_distance = 7.71The above calculation assumes the following parameters:
- stepper motor is a 1.8 degrees motor hence 200 as full steps per rotation;
- If you are using a 0.9 degrees stepper motor, replace full_steps_per_rotation with 400;
- microsteps are set to 16;
- e-steps value recommended for the BMG / DDX is 415.
Although we recommend to use the rotation_distance instead of the gear_ratio, we inform the BMG / DDX gearing ratio is 50:17 .

*1 Using DDX on Ender-5 Plus
On the Ender-5 Plus, the DDX fan shroud will collide with the right hand rail – especially when using a longer hotend like the Mosquito or Copperhead – if nothing is changed on the unit. To fix that problem we sell the SLS DDX Bed Rod Holder Set for Ender-5 Plus and supply as alternative the STL file of the new Z-rod holder that can solve this issue. Download the file from the list here.
DDX v3 on Ender-6
To use the DDX v3 on the Ender-6 please mind the following:
- Most of the BL Touch mounts we sell are not compatible with the the Ender-6. The only one compatible, was redesigned and you may find the STL model available to download here. To buy one made of Nylon click here.
- When using the DDX v3 and a Copperhead hotend on the Ender-6, it is necessary to adjust the height of the Z-stop screw. We designed a Z-stop Screw Adjuster and the STL model is available to download here.
DDX V3 on Ender-5 Plus
To install the DDX v3 with a Copperhead or Mosquito hotend, it is required to lower the bed by replacing the bed rod holders. We have available an accessory you may buy or download the STL and 3D print.
