Revolutionary Core Technology
At the heart of the kit is the INDX toolhead, utilizing induction heating to drive lightweight passive tools. By eliminating heater cartridges and thermistor wires, we’ve created a system with significantly lower moving mass and higher reliability. The signature openable extruder ensures instant, high-torque filament engagement, making tool changes fast and jam-free.
Powered by Duet3D
The kit features our flagship toolhead board, developed in close collaboration with Duet3D. This electronics package is the brain of the operation, offering:
- Dual Connectivity: Native support for both USB and CANbus, giving you the freedom to choose your preferred architecture.
- Advanced Sensing: A built-in loadcell for ultra-precise probing, paired with a dedicated connector for an SZP coil, unlocking lightning-fast bed scanning capabilities right at the nozzle.
- Expansion Ready: An integrated USB hub, a single dedicated LED port, and X-endstop connectivity ensure your build is future-proof.
Modular & Developer-Ready
The INDX is designed to adapt. The kit supports a fully modular cooling interface (high-flow CPAP or compact Dual 4010 blowers) and provides the reference geometry needed to design your own mounts and shrouds. This is the ultimate sandbox for those ready to build the next generation of multi-material printers.

Presenting the INDX
The Engine of Innovation: INDX Toolhead
The INDX Toolhead is the beating heart of Bondtech’s revolutionary toolchanging ecosystem. Engineered for speed, reliability, and absolute precision, this standalone unit packs an entire suite of next-generation technology into a compact, lightweight package. Whether you are upgrading an existing build or designing a custom kinematic system, the INDX Toolhead is the ultimate end-effector.
Wireless Thermal Power
The INDX redefines the hotend by eliminating the wires entirely. Utilizing advanced induction heating, the toolhead drives lightweight passive tools without fragile heater cartridges or thermistor cables. This "contactless" approach significantly reduces moving mass, enabling higher accelerations and eliminating the most common failure point in dynamic toolchanging systems.
Intelligence by Design
Inside the housing lies a custom-engineered toolhead board, developed in close collaboration with Duet3D. This brain offers:
- Universal Connectivity: Native support for both USB and CANbus, allowing seamless integration into almost any modern printer architecture.
- Smart Sensing: An onboard loadcell delivers exceptionally precise probing, while a dedicated port for an SZP coil enables lightning-fast, non-contact bed scanning.
- Integrated Control: Features an integrated USB hub, a single dedicated LED port, and a port for your X-endstop, keeping your wiring harness clean and minimal.
Adaptable Cooling & Extrusion
The INDX is built to adapt. Its modular cooling interface supports high-flow CPAP systems, compact dual 4010 blowers, or custom user-designed shrouds via our open reference geometry. Driving the filament is our signature openable extruder, a mechanism designed for instant, high-torque engagement that prevents grinding and ensures reliable starts on every tool change.
The Foundation for Scale
From a single-tool powerhouse to a multi-tool array, the INDX Toolhead is designed to scale. With high-precision kinematic coupling and robust electronics, it provides the repeatability required for complex, multi-material manufacturing.
Performance Redefined: INDX Thin Passive Tools
The INDX Passive Tool is the breakthrough component that makes the entire ecosystem possible. By stripping away the heater cartridges, thermistor wires, and heavy heat blocks of traditional hotends, we have created a nozzle assembly that is thinner, lighter, and vastly more reliable—without compromising on performance.
Industrial Durability meets CHT Power
Every INDX Passive Tool is built for serious engineering. Crafted from hardened steel, these nozzles offer exceptional abrasive resistance, allowing you to print Carbon Fiber, Glass Fiber, and glow-in-the-dark filaments with zero fear of wear. Inside the CHT versions, they utilize our patented Bondtech CHT (Core Heating Technology). By splitting the filament into three thinner strands, the nozzle melts material from within, significantly boosting flow rates and ensuring strong layer adhesion even at high print speeds.
Pure Performance, Zero Electronics
This is a "passive" device in the truest sense. It contains no electronics, no connectors, and no moving parts. Instead, it relies on the induction coil inside the INDX toolhead to generate heat contactlessly. This means the tool itself is incredibly robust—there are no crimps to fail, no wires to fatigue from constant motion, and no delicate sensors to break.
Featherweight Agility
Weighing a fraction of a standard print head, the Passive Tool minimizes the moving mass on your gantry. This reduction allows for higher acceleration and reduced ringing (ghosting). Combined with the high-flow capabilities of CHT, you can push your print speeds to the limit.
Seamless Integration
Designed to mate perfectly with the INDX openable extruder, the Passive Tool features a streamlined filament path that allows the extruder gears to engage directly. Held in place by high-precision kinematic coupling, every tool ensures micron-perfect repeatability, layer after layer.
