These extruder upgrade kits are supplied with all the parts required to
upgrade a Creality 3D printer from bowden to direct drive.

Owners re-use the stock thermistor, heater, hotend, nozzle and fans.

No firmware update is required but e-steps value needs to be 415.

How to install a Creality Ender/CR-10 Hotend on DDX v3
This guide may also be used if you have a DDX v1 or DDX v2.

How to install a Creality CR-10(S) Max or Pro Hotend on DDX v3
This guide may also be used if you have a DDX v1 or DDX v2.


DDX v3 is here We are about to start shipping the DDX v3. The v3 will be compatible with more models, starting with the Ender-6; deliver the same quality and form factor of previous versions; and introduce a new and much easier setup process.

The DDX v3 is not compatible with previous DDX fan mounts and shrouds.
Use only DDX v3 fan shrouds with the DDX v3.

 

For Klipper users
rotation_distance = full_steps_per_rotation * microsteps / steps_per_mm
rotation_distance = 200 * 16 / 415
rotation_distance = 7.71
The above calculation assumes the following parameters:
  • stepper motor is a 1.8 degrees motor hence 200 as full steps per rotation;
  • microsteps are set to 16;
  • e-steps value recommended for the DDX is 415.
